Musician’s Online Toolbox – iLike vs. Facebook

I’m going to start a new mini episode of blog entries entitled Musician’s Online Toolbox. Working as a web designer and audio engineer/road manager, I have found myself naturally drawn to helping to publicize and optimize Stellar Kart’s online presence. The techniques that Stellar Kart’s team and I use have broadened Stellar Kart’s presence to being regularly on YouTube’s top 100 channels list, as well as bringing a constant flow of activity to their various profiles. These editorials will document my experiences, list tools and methods used to obtain results, and give other musicians and artists tips on using the right tools to connect to your fans.

My favorite article on Linux

The past two weeks I have begun tinkering with Linux again. I initially a few months back had installed an instance of Kubuntu on my desktop, only to become completely frustrated with it taking 12 hours to get a dual-head display adapter working correctly. This time though I reformatted a server I was using for Asterisk and installed Cent-OS 5.1 Server on it and at the same time went for trying straight up Ubuntu on my laptop.

Christmas-time is here, Happiness and cheer!

Dang it. It’s been over a month since I blogged. Guilty as charged. My soul intention is to keep writing ever other day or so, but isn’t it amazing how quickly priorities can change and all of a sudden five other things come up and blogging gets pushed to the back burner. Sad because I really do enjoy writing my thoughts out (Jamie is really good at that and inspires me to work on it more).
